The structure of the conference will be unusual in the sense that for each speaker there will be two “moderators”, drawn mostly from the DanBIF community, who will have studied relevant background material such as the speakers presentation abstract, provided prior to the meeting. Based on that, and on the presentation itself, the moderators will lead a discussion with open participation from the floor in which they will analyse the implications of the concepts and ideas presented in relation to the overall question of the conference: What is biodiversity at the ecosystem level?, how does it relate to biodiversity at the organismic level?, and how can ecosystem biodiversity be integrated in the GBIF concept?
