DanBIF Collections Metadata Inventory - survey of Danish collections

DanBIF carries out the work on making accessible the Danish resources of biodiversity data. To fulfil this huge task it is necessary to assess the quantity, nature and size of biological collections and inventories in Danish repositories. The information requested includes both collections and inventories that are and are not stored electronically in their present state. This will be accomplished through a questionnaire to relevant Danish research institutions, museums, organisations, agencies, public administration (regions/municipalities) and industry.

The results from the questionnaire are stored in a database, and we have developed an IT-tool that enables relevant parts of these metadata to be published on the internet as a searchable archive that lists and provides an overview of Danish biodiversity resources - the DanBIF Collections Metadata Services.
