P.W. Lund (1801 - 1880), Danish Zoologist and Botanist. Travelled in Brazil 1833-35 together with the German botanist Riedl, settled at the small town of Lagoa Santa, Minas Gerais, where he remained to his death 1880. Mainly known for his basic research on subfossil remains of the extinct fauna in the limestone caves of Minas Gerais, and for his collections and descriptions of extant mammals of the area.
